Mapping model

Doppler secrets are a flat key/value namespace. For monorepos, lazyenv uses a prefix convention:

• root folder: DATABASE_URL
• apps/web: WEB__DATABASE_URL
• apps/api: API__DATABASE_URL

Prefix rule: take the last segment of the folder path, uppercase it, and append __.

Project and environments

In .lazyenv/config.json:

• store: must be doppler
• projectId: Doppler project name
• environments: Doppler config names you plan to use (example: dev,prod)

Notes

• Doppler projects/configs should exist before init in strict/CI usage.
• If you rename a folder, your prefix changes, which effectively creates new keys in Doppler.
